Happy Holidays

And, I just wanted to wish you all a fantastic, and prosperous New Year.

It shouldn't be too much longer now before the film is done -- if all goes
well next week.

Ron

Hope this e-mail finds everyone well, and in good spirits for the Holidays

Well, we are close to the main optical work on our film, final titles, and maybe some corpse scene work to give it more of an effect. Just a little more cash inflow, and I can meet with Yonish (our new optical guy) to hammer out all the details, and get the ball rolling with that. Then it's negative cutting,
and prints.

Also, a few clips from The Chest will be featured in the new Music Video Powers That Be off the soon (very soon) to be released album "Garden of Rage" by Others. As some of you may know, "Powers That Be" is our anthem for the murder sequence and is cut beautifully into our film as I type.

For more information on "Garden of Rage" and Others check out Myspace.com/others, www.othersgothichorror.com, and www.drcyclopsrecords.net.

Please take a look at the videos Mark made available for download - they kick ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MARK (from Others) WROTE:

"The wait is almost over. "Garden of Rage" has gone to press and
will be available just in time for the unholydays.

Just a quick update as to where we are with the film today.

Bern has fine tuned the sound to a razor sharp edge -- it sounds better then
when I left his studio at the beginning of last week. We also had to readjust
the mix for the stereo track that will be used in the digital transfers, and
DVDs. I never knew how complex the mix would be from mono 16mm film sound to
stereo digital sound on DVD, and such -- I left all that to Bern!!!!!

Also, I jumped a head and cut out all the special SKIP BLEACH process shots
negative, made two OCN reels and left one with Duart, and one with the optical
house for EFX superimposition. The optical shot is pretty complex since we
have to blow it up to 35mm, make the effect, reduce it back down to 16mm, then
get it to Duart to be processed with the other reel -- I said what the hell,,
lets just get it done,,, and so be it. I chose to go full optical on this shot
because, even though it's not a matching shot consistent to any continuous
action in its sequence, it still is surrounded by film/film shots, so I didn't
want any digital artifacting to break the continuity of that scene. However,
with the opening title sequence I'm seriously considering a 4k scan to digital,
make the title EFX, and then scan everything back out to film -- since one
whole scene will done that way, it will be consistent (but this is better left for
another day). I guess we should have the processed SK inter-negative back in
two weeks with a check print, and that step should be done.

Meanwhile, I'll start marking the work-print, and making the scene to scene
que-sheet in preparation for conforming the negative for final printing -- that
should keep me busy for a while. I guess we'll need about $3,000.00-$5,000.00
to get all the text work done, and wrap this puppy up. I'm now beyond broke
again,, but oh well,, at least we'll only have one big expense left, and the
rest is just my time cutting/conforming the OCN here at home.

To all cast,, crew,, and everyone whom have so kindly supported the making of
our film "The Chest."

Well,, we just finished the last official shoot to round off the production
of "The Chest" (provided the final 1,200ft of footage comes back from the lab
OK,, and of course shooting the usual pick-up shots that are always needed
here,, and there). If things turn out well this Thursday,, when we get the footage
back from NYC,, it's all post production from here on in. I would imagine our
film should be completed here shortly,, and everyone will receive a finished
copy,, and preview info. Thank you all again for your hard work,, and support
throughout this long process.

I'll keep you all posted on how things turn out,, and let everyone know
what's up when we start cutting-in the final sequence.

PS. Here is our latest production letter,, and some pics Mark,, and Lee Simms
took on Sat.

Talk to you all soon,,
Ron

Hey Guys hope you are all doing well,,

I just wanted to keep in touch,, and let you all know what we've been up to.
Robert sent me this e-mail tonight,, and I wanted to forward it to everyone --
he got some really good shots on June 19th during the filming of our
reenactment scene,, and I wanted to share them with all of you.

Things are still moving along,, and this Sat. we should officially wrap
production -- with the exception of some pick-up shots Mitch,, and I have planned.

I'm so beat tonight,, but I will be sending you all another up-date here soon.

Talk to you all soon,,
Ron
